Animal Sounds

So what's been happening in the last two weeks? Well . . .

--Miran continues to build his receptive vocabulary. He understands the words for a variety of objects in the house, many of his toys, and the people he sees most: Mama, Daddy, Nana, Granny. He still likes pointing to everything and "asking" about it.

--If you give him a brush, he will "brush" his hair. He'll also brush your hair, if you ask him!

--He's making connections. For example, at the end of one of his books, there's a picture of an owl. When he gets to that part of the book, he will always look up and point at the owl picture on his nursery wall. He gets that they are the same thing.

--He's making the cutest animal gestures and noises! He raises his "trunk" (arm) for elephant, roars for lion, snorts for pig, and makes little "p - p -p" sounds for fish.

--He walks very well. Still waddling, but more or less steady on his feet. Very rarely crawls anymore.

--He loves, loves, loves reading his books and really pays attention to them now.
