Yesterday (at 3 years, 3 months, 9 days), Miran weighed 39 lbs., 3 oz., and was 42.5 inches tall (99.9th percentile). Both height and weight are average for a 4 3/4 year-old. He also wears size 11 shoe.

First Movie

We took Miran to see The Lorax today -- his first movie experience. My dad, his wife, and my youngest sister went along, too. Well, he loved it -- watched intently, asked intelligent questions to try to understand the plot, and commented at the end, "I like watching a show on the biggest screen ever." I'm sure most of the story was way over his head, but he still stayed focused the whole time. A great day! (Yesterday was nice, too -- a very long walk through Ft. Tryon Park, all the way to Inwood Hill Park. Miran's favorite part? Picking dandelions and blowing all the seedlings away.)

Metaphor

Kieryn and Miran were on the bus home and stuck in traffic.

Miran: The bus is a statue.

Kieryn: Why is that?

Miran: Because it's not moving.

Overheard

Daddy: Miran, come get dinner!
Miran: But I'm still playing with my airplane with the tiger in it. Please leave me alone. (said plaintively, not rudely)

Where did he get that from? LOL

Potty trained!

Not only does he always use the potty now (no accidents in at lest a couple of weeks), but he goes to the bathroom, gets his step-stool, turns on the light, pulls down his pants, gets on the toilet, does his business, pulls his pants back up, and flushes -- all by himself!
